🎶 A New Roof for the Music Scene:
Giving Back to Easthampton’s Bandshell 🎶
Last week, we had the privilege of donating a brand-new roof to Easthampton’s beloved bandshell along Ferry Street—just off the bike path many locals know and love.
It all started when James Flannery, owner of
Peak Performance Roofing and a live music enthusiast, spotted the bandshell’s roof in rough shape during a walk along the path. As someone who’s enjoyed countless local shows over the years, he knew how important this space is to Easthampton’s music and arts scene.
We contacted the city right away and offered to donate a full roof replacement—no red tape, no delay. Our crew jumped into action and, within days, installed a new roof built to stand up to New England weather.
This wasn’t just about shingles—it was about supporting the heart of our community.
We’re proud to help preserve a stage that brings people together through music, art, and celebration.
Now the show can go on—rain or shine!
Thinking about a standing seam metal roof for your home? Not all standing seam systems are built the same — and understanding the difference can make a major impact on long-term roof performance. Standing seam roofing uses vertical metal panels with raised interlocking seams that create a sleek, highly weather-resistant roofing system. In residential applications, the two most common types are snap-lock panels and mechanically-seamed panels. Snap-lock systems install faster because the panels simply snap together, but mechanically-seamed systems provide a tighter, more secure connection designed for demanding weather conditions. In the Northeast and throughout New England, roofs face constant exposure to snow loads, high winds, and freeze-thaw cycles. That’s why Peak installs mechanically-seamed standing seam systems. These panels are custom roll-formed on-site from metal coils and locked together using specialized equipment that compresses the seams for superior strength and leak resistance. Depending on the roof design, seams can be installed in either a single-lock or double-lock configuration, with double-lock seams offering maximum durability and water protection for lower-slope roofs. Seam design plays a critical role in the overall strength, longevity, and weather performance of a metal roofing system. Choosing the right standing seam roof means investing in long-term protection, durability, and peace of mind for your home. #StandingSeamRoofing #MetalRoofing #NewEnglandRoofing #RoofReplacement #ResidentialRoofing #StandingSeamMetalRoof #RoofingContractor #MetalRoofInstallation

Spring is here, and our summer schedule is already starting to fill up with asphalt shingle roof replacements—so now is the time to start thinking about your roof, especially color. With CertainTeed Landmark PRO, homeowners have access to one of the most versatile and well-balanced color lines in the industry. In our experience, one of the most common questions we get is about black shingles—specifically the difference between Moiré Black and Charcoal Black. While they may sound similar, they create very different looks once installed. Moiré Black is a softer, blended black that tends to read as a charcoal gray in direct sunlight and deepen into a classic black in shaded areas. This variation gives it a more natural, dimensional appearance that pairs especially well with stonework, wood tones, and warmer siding colors. It’s a great option for homeowners looking for something traditional that won’t overpower the home. Charcoal Black, on the other hand, is a deeper, more uniform black that creates stronger contrast and sharper definition. It stands out more from the ground and works particularly well with white trim, lighter siding, and modern or high-contrast exterior designs. If you’re aiming for a bold, clean look, this is usually the direction homeowners lean. Since your roof is one of the most visible and long-lasting parts of your home, the color you choose will shape how the entire property feels for decades. What seems like a small decision upfront often ends up being one of the most impactful. If you’re not sure which direction makes the most sense for your home, that’s completely normal. Moiré Black tends to feel softer and more traditional, while Charcoal Black delivers a stronger, more dramatic finish—and both are excellent choices depending on the look you’re going for. This exposed fastener metal roof in Florence was a complete transformation for a weathered, uninsulated barn addition that had seen better days. The existing roof had old three-tab shingles layered over three previous installations, leaving the structure in rough shape. Much of the original decking was deteriorated, so we reinforced it by adding new CDX plywood over the existing boards to ensure a solid foundation. Because the building isn’t insulated or finished on the inside, an exposed fastener metal system was the right choice—practical, cost-effective, and perfectly suited for a structure like this. The new roof provides lasting protection and a clean, functional look that elevates the barn’s overall appearance. While exposed fastener systems are durable, it’s worth noting that the screws should be replaced every 15–20 years to maintain a watertight seal as the washers naturally age over time. This installation gave new life to an aging structure while keeping the project efficient and budget-friendly for the homeowner. #FlorenceMA #MetalRoofing #ExposedFastenerRoof #BarnRoof #RoofRestoration #PeakPerformanceRoofing #WesternMassRoofing #RoofRepair #MetalBarnRoof #RoofMaintenance

A little while back—before the doors officially opened at their beautiful new location—we had the pleasure of working on a special project for Roundabout Books in Greenfield, MA. As this beloved independent bookstore prepared to move into its new home at 85 Pierce Street, inside the historic former Diamond Electric Soap Factory building, we helped get the space ready for its next chapter. We installed a new Standing Seam Metal Roof - a durable, timeless upgrade designed to complement the building’s classic red brick and timber character while standing up to New England’s weather for decades to come. The clean lines of the standing seam panels added a fresh, modern touch while preserving the building’s historic charm. The roof was also built solar-ready, allowing for future energy-saving upgrades when the time is right. It was an honor to support a local business that continues to be a cultural hub for the Pioneer Valley—and to help preserve such a beautiful piece of Greenfield’s history. 📚 If you’re looking for the perfect spot to shop local this holiday season, be sure to stop by Roundabout Books for an amazing selection of new, used, and rare books—and the cozy, community-driven atmosphere we all love. #RoundaboutBooks #GreenfieldMA #MetalRoofing #StandingSeamRoof #SolarReadyRoof #PeakPerformanceRoofing #WesternMassBusinesses #ShopLocal #HolidayShop
